Late-Breaking Clinical Research at HCII 2025

A late-breaking story is one that has received wide attention in the media after a major development. In the United States, for example, a late-breaking story might be featured on a major television or radio show. The term was also used to refer to news items that were deemed important enough to be placed on the front page of a newspaper.

Late-breaking clinical research is a special opportunity to showcase revolutionary findings that were not ready for the standard abstract submission deadline. The aim is to provide recognition for large, high-impact clinical studies or translational research that could not be completed by the original deadline and is still worthy of a congress presentation. These studies may be presented in a plenary session or, as a last resort, in poster format. Please note that retrospective or single center studies are not eligible for consideration.

If accepted, your paper will be published in the “HCII 2025 – Late Breaking Papers” volumes (link is external and opens in a new window) after the conference, together with all papers accepted for the main congress program. The “HCII 2025 – Late-Breaking Papers” volumes are formally part of the Congress Proceedings series and will be available in print and online. In academic terms, these papers are no different from any other paper in the main Proceedings volume. All authors must abide by ACM’s publications policies. This includes submitting financial disclosure information and complying with ACM’s Code of Conduct.
