How to Add Daily Update to Your Actions

In teams that work on tight schedules, efficiency and time-saving tools are key. That’s where daily update comes in—it allows you to create updates ahead of time and schedule their publication and removal for a future date or time.

You can use daily update to create many kinds of updates, such as an automated upcoming events list sent to team members or a report on staff availability. It’s also a great way to keep track of project progress, for example if you have regular daily stand-up meetings where you share quick gut-checks.

To add daily updates to your Action, first configure one of its intents as the triggering one. Then, add a response that prompts the user to subscribe to the update. This prompt can appear mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip when the conversation ends. Once the user has subscribed, they’ll get an Assistant notification at their scheduled time of day containing the update.

When you’re designing the subscription flow for daily updates, make sure to show your users the value of your content before asking them to subscribe. It can be distracting for them if you over-prompt, so don’t ask them to subscribe until they’ve experienced the benefit of your update. Otherwise, they might unsubscribe after a few days. If you do end up with a lot of unused subscribers, you can transition them to a system scene that stops delivering the updates automatically. That way, you can free up space on your Action’s notification queue for new content.
